Project Organization & Approach
Each project is individually managed by a team consisting of a
design principal, project manager and CAD operator. The designer is
responsible for the following aspects of the design process:
- Review and consultation meetings with the Owner,
Architects and Representatives, generally involving
facilities evaluation and goals, use of concepts, and
design-build and fast track requirements.
- Design and plan the project to meet Foodservice needs.
- Provide all necessary documentation for budgeting and
specifications.
- Monitor the project's schedules.
- Supervise the CAD operator which produces plans and
documents.
- Assist the Owner/Architect through the bidding phase,
construction administration, and final review and
substantial completion inspections of the finished project.
Schedule of Basic Services

individually or in any combination. The fee basis is predicated upon
the scope of the project and the services furnished.

- Phase Three: Bidding and Award
- Phase Four: Construction Phase
Expanded Services
In addition to planning services, Design Crafters offers a
variety of services unique to the industry. Over the years we
noticed a gap in service between final design and actual
installation. Communications between contractors and subs were
difficult and time consuming. To assist our customers with this gap
in service we decided to enter the Project Management field and
began offering additional services including: onsite management,
coordination of kitchen related subs (stainless steel fabricators,
hood manufacturers), and became the coordinator/ liaison between
Owner, Architect and Contractor. The result was overwhelming. Not
only was the design intent met but the kitchens were finished in a
more timely manner with fewer mistakes. To further assist with the
process we have expanded our firm to include a custom millwork shop,
warehousing for consolidation of equipment, and fabrication of solid
surface materials and engineered stones thus allowing Design
Crafters the ability to design, specify, manage, fabricate and
install the elements necessary for a food service operation. |
